UAL Future Fashion Film Festival
3 - 5 June 2025

CSF Researcher Prof Helen Storey's film with David Betteridge, 'UNHCR – 'Artist in Residence’ – Zaatari Refugee Camp', has been shortlisted for UAL's Future Fashion Film Festival 2025. The film is in the running for a category award, 'Activism in a Fashion Context', the overall winner and special prizes. The UAL Future Fashion Film Festival 2025 is a cinematic celebration of fashion through the lens of film.

Fashioning Frequencies Exhibition

CSF member Natasha Mays is showcasing her latest work in Fashioning Frequencies, a new exhibition exploring fashion as a transmission of identity, agency, and history. Working with post-consumer waste and reclaimed textiles, Natasha weaves sustainability in sportswear designs that reflect diasporic heritage, street style and economic struggles.

Next Gen Assembly Masterclass

This free Future Observatory exhibition features contributions from CSF’s Future Fashion Landscapes project and collaboration with South East and South West England Fibreshed. It brings together diverse designers who are revolutionising how we create, make, and wear clothes.

Textiles: The Arts of Mankind |
Fashion + Textiles Museum

This exhibition features CSF member Prof Sandy Black's hand-knitted leopard scarf, made of mohair/wool yarn, and pattern from her 'Sandy Black Original Knits' collection in the early 1980s. This exhibition celebrates the ancient and deep entanglement between textiles, people and our world.

Green Souls – When Art Confronts the Anthropocene

CSF member Prof Lucy Orta’s work Symphony for Absent Wildlife (2014-2020) is currently the focus of the exhibition, Âmes vertes – Quand l’art affronte l’anthropocène (Green Souls - When Art Confronts the Anthropocene). Located at La Friche la Belle de Mai in Marseille.
Open Morning Tutorials for UAL Students
CSF are offering current UAL students free one-on-one 25-minute in-person tutorials with a CSF team member during term time.
This is a brilliant platform for inquisitive students working on projects inclusive of sustainability to discuss their work with fashion and sustainability leaders in their respective area of experience.
