Anna Fitzpatrick

Project Coordinator

Anna is a curious person who fills her ‘work’ time as PhD researcher, a fashion educator and member of the CSF education team. Ultimately, she is interested in different and more equitable ways of living together, caring for and relating to one another. Why, when there are some many potential ways of doing things and organising ourselves do we do what we do? At CSF Anna works in the Education Team on projects that seek to further ethics and sustainability into teaching and learning. This includes contributing to online courses as well as more traditional teaching materials. Currently Anna is exploring walking as an alternative pedagogy, ideas of the fashion commons and ways to further embed a values-led curriculum for Education for Sustainability.

Her PhD research focuses on political theory and philosophy, power, prefigurative politics, ways of knowing and how these ideas show up in fashion and influence what fashion is and can be. Her main preoccupation is what politics is, who defines it and what it can do in the world (the world being fashion and sustainability). She enjoys working with others and encouraging a critical dialogue with ideas and practices about fashion, which (she hopes) might make a difference in this world.
