Alan Blighe
Innovation Lead, NHS England
I'm Alan, aged 43, and an Irish immigrant living in the North of England. Like all of us, I occupy multiple identities – I’m autistic, a yoga teacher, a father and partner.
Professionally I’m a neuroscientist, now working in healthcare research and innovation. My job involves facilitating the adoption and spread of innovative medical technologies within the English public health system. Sustainability is an important aspect of this work – in terms of direct environmental impacts, but also in supporting the workforce and long-term health of patients. This experience, combined with my love of fashion, led to my involvement with the Governance for Tomorrow programme.
I believe there’s an opportunity here to do some good – to help lead the way on improving the fashion industry’s environmental impact. I’m looking forward to working with the team on this over the coming months.
What does stewardship mean to you?
