Ethical 'Pop Up' Shop

Next week Carnaby Street will see the opening of an Ethical ‘Pop Up’ Shop for one week. E-boutique Bochica has teamed up with reclaimed textile design team Emmeline4Re for this exciting event. The highlight the week will be a V.I.P event for people to meet the designers behind the labels. With prices starting from £8 Bochica offers clothing, footwear and accessories to suit every style and budget. The shop will showcase the latest innovations and collections from independent British ethical brands and allow them to show together in one space.

The shop will be located at Emmeline4re Boutique, 9 Princes Street, Lonond, W1B 2LQ – above the Salvation Army Shop.

It will open on Monday 18th May to Friday 23rd May, opening at the bright and early time of 9am.

A New Look for ethical fashion

New Look chairman Phil Wrigley is profiled in this week’s Drapers (29 November 2008) discussing ethics in high street retail. The fast fashion guru spoke at last week’s Drapers Fashion Summit on the subject and this piece summarises his arguments. In the piece, Wrigley discusses the role of government, the ETI and retailers themselves, with particular reference to how the current recession is in fact the perfect time to be acting in a more ethical fashion.
