Field of Jeans with Kilts, St Andrews Square, Edinburgh

For the first time, several bespoke denim kilts, kindly produced in Edinburgh by 21st Century Kilts, will be catalysed and ‘planted’ with denim jeans in this central Edinburgh Square, further demonstrating our ambition to catalyse everyday clothing, notably using denim jeans, of which there are more pairs in the world than there are people.
An art intervention to illustrate ideas behind the pioneering research project Catalytic Clothing, exploring and introducing the idea that everyday clothing and textiles can purify the air we breathe. They are potentially the world’s first air purifying jeans/kilts.
The jeans and kilts will be on show from noon on the 4th – dusk on the 8th April
