Ada Zanditon

Ada Zanditon interned with Alexander McQueen before studying at the London College of Fashion where she attained a 1st class BA (Hons) in womenswear and was selected for the prestigious LCF centenary press show at the Royal Academy.

Once graduated, Ada worked on freelance projects including: the Centre for Sustainable Fashion’s first Shared Talent Project in South Africa and creating product for Oxfam’s first boutique. She then set up her own company in early 2008 after working for Gareth Pugh.

Since establishing the company, Ada Zanditon has created visionary album and tour wardrobe for Patrick Wolf, along with commissions for Bishi, Robots in Disguise and Stephanie O’Brien of the Puppini Sisters. Ebony Bones is also a fan of Ada’s designs. Ada has excitingly also been placed in The Observer’s top 50 of the Courvoisier future 500’s latest intake. Ada recently collaborated with lighting designer Jeffrey Michael Baker to create an outfit for singer St. Saviour of Groove Armada.

In late 2009 Ada was selected for the Estethica eco fashion mentoring program by the British Fashion Council. Bev Malik, her mentor,  supports her continued practice and the development of her  AW2010 collection, of which Gleeds is the principle sponsor. Ada made her catwalk debut to an international audience at London Fashion Week in September 09 at Vauxhall Fashion Scout’s “Ones to Watch” show (featured on Vogue.com).  Ada also exhibited at Estethica during London Fashion Week, and at Rendez Vous Femme, Paris in March.

Ada presented her S/S11 collection with On|Off during London Fashion Week, and was included in the Sustainable Fashion Show at Clarence House. Ada also received the Fairtrade Cotton Innovation award from the Fairtrade Foundation and Ethical Fashion Forum.

The S/S11 collection explored the idea of structure – creating prints combining photographs of coral from London Zoo with ink and watercolour. For the jewelleryshe once again collaborated with fellow designer Luca Romanyi.
