Inspired and influenced by traditional handicrafts with origins from the Middle Ages, Lowie is a unique and exciting knitwear brand bringing traditional techniques to life in a thoroughly modern way. Designer Bronwyn Lowenthal has always loved and sourced vintage clothing, and this influence can also be seen throughout the Lowie collections.
Most pieces are hand-knitted, crocheted or hand-embroidered with up to date prints and on trend colours. Label staples include hand-customised man style caps, vintage inspired accessories and classic tea dresses. Lowie design and source as ethically as possible “We aim to pay our hand makers and small manufacturers a decent price, while small production runs ensure each piece is a limited edition”.
Lowie use the finest soft wools, luxurious organic cottons and eco-friendly leathers with minimal chemicals used in the tanning process. Collections have also included recycled cotton yarns and end of the line fabric. Lowie make positive choices based on the principle that good design combined with a considerate approach to production simply makes sense.
