The UN’s latest report: State of the World Population 2009, highlights how Climate Change will exacerbate the inequality between rich and poor and men and women. Particularly women in poor countries due a range of complex and interlinked factors. The Times highlights these findings in the article titled ‘Women’s carbon print is small but climate change hits them harder’. The full UN report can be found here.
What is so important to remember and to consider is the impact that Climate Change will have not only physically but culturally, socially and politically across the global, impacting on everyone and anyone but particularly the economically vulnerable. Fashion is intrinsically linked to women, climate change, economics, culture – which is why it is so important…

CSF are thrilled that Beautiful Soul is now being stocked at the V&A shop.
Nicola Woods, the founder of Beautiful Soul, graduated from LCF in 2008 and has been part of the business support programme run by the CSF as well as a finalist of the Fashioning the Future competition.
It’s been a great year for Beautiful Soul, debuting at Estethica, being picked up by the new Ascension shop and now being stocked in the V&A gift shops from Spring/Summer 2010.

Fashioning in the Future finalist Sarah Rhodes is showing her most recent jewellery collection is to be exhibited at ‘Flux’ part of the annual ‘Brilliantly Birmingham’ celebration of contemporary jewellery held at the Birmingham Museum & Art Gallery, from 21st November to 28th February 2010.
