LENY announce new contributors

LENY announce new contributors

December 8, 2008 by nina

The project LENY was launched by Mariel Gamboa with its main goal to mobilise the fashion industry to take part in a project dedicated for a good cause. LENY is a gathering of celebrities, fashion icons and designers that donate their design to support the project. These designs are then interpreted and made into various fashion products with its label being a numbered limited edition series sold in the most prestigious multi-brand boutiques and department stores world-wide. The net proceeds of these special creations will be forwarded to the charity.

For its first year, the LENY gathering will be in favour of Al Gore’s association, The Climate Project. The association works to raise awareness on the dramatic effects of global warming and takes actions to persuade citizens and governments of the urgent necessity to solve this environmental crisis.

LENY aims not only to raise a maximum of funds for the Climate Project but also to help raise awareness. Awareness brings choice and choice brings the opportunity to change. At a time when the future of our planet is not only in question but in urgency to react, we must act quickly and together. Celebrities, fashion icons and design voices have a huge impact on collective consciousness. Launching this exclusive project, shared by leading voices, LENY establishes a direct link between fashion and environmental protection.
