ETI publishes new training courses

July 21, 2008 by nina

The ETI have launched their new Training Programme for 2008/09.

The revised, restructured and updated programme incorporates all the
latest thinking and good practice in ethical trade.

The training programme is essential for everyone needing to build the skills and understanding to manage, monitor and improve the conditions for workers in global supply chains. In particular, it is designed for staff within retailing and supplier companies who are responsible for implementing codes of practice on supply chain labour conditions, and for trade union and NGO representatives who promote ethical trade.

The programme comprises four workshops which will help participants build the foundations of a sound ethical trade policy and strategy, and support them in addressing the more challenging and emerging aspects of ethical trade.

Autumn 2008 Schedule

Workshop 1.
The essentials of ethical trade: Building the foundations of
ethical trade policies and practices.

Thursday 4 September, Wednesday 24 September

Workshop 2.
Managing an ethical trade programme: Tools and mechanisms
for implementation
Wednesday 1 October, Wednesday 15 October

Workshop 3.
Improving working conditions: A partnership approach to
managing change in the supply chain
Wednesday 29 October, Wednesday 12 November

Workshop 4.
Making change sustainable: Taking a leadership approach to
ethical trade.
Thursday 27 November, Wednesday 17 December

Workshops 1 and 2 provide essential tools and information for all those
involved in ethical trade, including people who are already involved in
implementation of ethical trade policies. We would strongly recommend
that participants attend both these workshops before attending either of
workshops 3 and 4.
